Read chapter 4-6 in the Rosenberg et al. textbook.
In addition to the role and purposes of assessment, these chapters focus on the considerations in interpreting assessment outcomes, the advantages of the functional assessment and decision making based on information gathered in the screening and assessment processes. Also covered are the required elements of the IDEA and the components of an individual education plan, with specific attention to the dues process issues for students with behavior disorders. The important role of parents in the IEP process is also addressed.
