After planning and previewing come the in-depth challenges: reading and reflecting on (or thinking about) what you have read. College-level reading is not like reading a newspaper or a novel for fun. Rather, most college-level reading is meant to explore complex questions, provide distinct perspectives, and provoke you to think in analytical, creative, and practical ways about what the reading says.
By the end of this unit, you should be able to:
- Read in order to answer questions and explore concepts identified in your preview
- Use the CAP (creative, analytical/critical, and practical) approaches to reflecting on and thinking about your readings
- Identify ways to apply your readings to your Unit Tasks
